The Working Mother Initiative,
Greater Accra

We hosted a gathering with the Christian Women’s Village in Ashiaman to both distribute food parcels and bags of rice and understand the needs of the local women.

EDUCATION

We partner with rural schools to provide equipment and essential resources, ensuring as many children as possible have the opportunity to thrive.

COMMUNITY

We engage in local outreach and support projects through fundraising and mentoring, fostering strong, supportive communities.

SUSTAINABILITY

We collaborate with mothers and widows in the community, offering business skill training and education to empower them to support themselves and their families.

About Us

Who are we?

The Helping Alms Project (HAP) is a registered Ghanaian charity driven by dedicated volunteers. Our mission is to serve communities and foster sustainable living through education. We strive to inspire hope in mothers and young individuals in rural Ghana by providing essential resources and skillbuilding opportunities, enabling them to achieve their fullest potential.

Currently, we collaborate with an expanding network of schools and local communities across the Greater Accra and Northern regions of Ghana.

What we do

The impact of our work

Since 2021, our initiatives have positively impacted the lives of approximately 4,500 children and 500 mothers across the Greater Accra and Northern regions of Ghana, including the communities of Tema and Bolgatanga.

Back-to-School Project, Bolgatanga Preparatory School

In 2022, we established a partnership with the Bolgatanga Preparatory School, and funded the purchase of 20 refurbished student friendly Dell laptops and accessories (including a modem) to help equip their IT lab. We also donated an additional 300 school bags and food parcels for the students. In Tema, 2 university students were gifted with laptops and dongles to help complete their assignments for the academic year.

Reaching the Community, Tema, Greater Accra

In 2021, HAP began to build relationships with local leaders in the Greater Accra region to help raise awareness about resources being provided by different organisations giving access to healthcare and educational programs.
